Lourdes and Paris 2025

Lourdes

Lourdes is one of the world’s most important Catholic pilgrimage sites. It became famous as the place where the Virgin Mary appeared to a young girl, Bernadette Soubirous in 1858, at the Grotto of Massabielle. Since then millions of pilgrims have visited to see the grotto, drink from the spring that appeared there and pray, with many seeking physical or spiritual healing. Located in the Pyrenees in the south of France, Lourdes is surrounded by nature, creating a serene and uplifting environment. It is a place where visitors can reflect, connect with their faith and experience a sense of spiritual renewal.

Notre Dame – Cathedral

Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was built in the 12th century and is renowned for its Gothic architecture, featuring soaring stone pillars, graceful archways, and stunning stained glass windows. Over the centuries, it has undergone numerous renovations and survived damage from the French Revolution, harsh weather, and the 2019 fire. The cathedral houses important relics, including what is believed to be the Crown of Thorns, placed on Jesus Christ’s head at his crucifixion.

Notre Dame remains a sacred place for prayer, pilgrimage, and contemplation. It is a space where visitors connect with their faith and find inspiration. Beyond its spiritual significance, the cathedral stands as a symbol of Paris, representing art, culture, faith, hope, and renewal.
